Ahane got their U21 Hurling Championship underway on Tuesday night last under lights at the Gaelic Grounds against Ballybrown. It was not the best weather for hurling with a constant drizzle throughout the game. Ahane 3-6 Mungret 2-9 Ahane and Mungret ended all square in an entertaining game of football this evening in Mungret. Trailing 1-3 to 1-1 a the break Ahane rallied in the second half to level, then lead heading into the final ten minutes before Mungret regained the upper hand. Two late points from Ahane had them on level terms at the full time whistle.
