Ahane Minor Hurling Manager, Davey Givens congratulating his panel after they secured a victory against Doon under lights in the Gaelic Grounds

Ahane minors made the short trip to the Gaelic Grounds last Wednesday to face Doon under lights in the County Premier Minor Hurling semi-final. Both clubs had come out on the wrong side in their respective senior hurling county semi-finals the previous week-end and were anxious to ensure pride was restored in these East Limerick hurling strongholds. Ahane’s Under 11 Team took part in the Under 11B County Football Blitz held in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale today.

In the Final, Ahane played Monagea. Ahane were first off the mark with a point from Fiona Herbert and Monagea responded with a point. Ahane’s Ella Ryan added another to leave the half time score: Ahane 0-2 Monagea 0-1. Ahane were playing great football and in the second half added three more points from Fiona Herbert, while Monagea responded scoring one point to leave the final score: Ahane 0-5 Monagea 0-2. Ahane U16A Shield Champions

Ahane and St Ailbes contested the U16A Shield Final on Monday night in Monaleen. It promised to be an intriguing contest with little between the sides. In perfect playing conditions in Monaleen, Ahane settled quickly and were first off the mark with a point from Aine Reynolds, followed by points from Aimee Griffin and Aine O’Curry. St Ailbes responded with a point. Both sides were playing magificant football, carrying and defending and Ahane broke clear with successive points from Niamh Braham and Aisling Herbert. (Read More)

Ahane U8 and U10 Girls Football Blitz in Passage West; Co Cork on Saturday, 13 September 2014. 

Ahane’s  young stars bubbled brightly in sun-drenched Passage West in Cork last Saturday where our U8 and U10 girls distinguished themselves in a football blitz hosted by the local club. This was a mammoth blitz with over seventy two clubs taking part.

The day started when our bus departed from the clubhouse with forty eight on board at 7.30

Limerick Intermediate Camogie Team Crowned All Ireland Champions

Congratulations to Ahane Players: Niamh Mulcahy, Judith Mulcahy, Claire Mulcahy, Sile Moynihan and Marqueriete McCarthy, who played on the Limerick Team that were crowned All Ireland Intermediate Camogie Champions when they beat Kilkenny on the 14 September in Croke Park.  Ahane’s Niamh Mulcahy, who scored seven points in the final, was awarded the Player of the Match.
